City (2016 - 2020)

My current work focuses on the experience of living in urban life. In my adoptive home, the city of New York, there is a speed and electric power that inspires me. There is this constant tension of the need to survive among the masses, but they want to create and exist in total isolation. In my paintings I try to represent the distorted look of every corner of the city. The collages of newspapers that I impose on my works represent the noise and the constant chat that I hear in the streets. My lines and colors do not intend to define, but to represent. It’s as if the buildings, the people, the speed and the spirit of the city melted into color, rhythm and form.
